Ncikazi reveals secret behind Bucs resurgence

After beating Chippa United in a DStv Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi praised his team's enthusiasm.

Tshegofatso Mabasa, Abel Mabaso, and Goodman Mosele all scored for the Buccaneers, who fought back from a goal down to win 3-1.

With the win, the Pirates have now collected eight points from four games and are still unbeaten in the league.

Ncikazi praised his squad's team spirit as the hidden weapon behind their victory after the final whistle.

"The game mirrored our training," Ncikazi stated afterward.

"What I witnessed today, as well as the battling spirit I observed in training, foreshadowed this outcome if this squad is this united and ready to work this hard."

"With everything that transpired yesterday, when the team's solidarity was always visible, you work for your luck, and I believe luck was on our side today because we worked for it."

When the Pirates play Mamelodi Sundowns in their next league fixture on Saturday, Ncikazi has hinted that they may stick with the same starting lineup.

"All of the championship-winning teams had consistent lineups," Ncikazi remarked.

"We'd like to keep the same team if it's possible and there are no injuries."

"Without saying anything prematurely, I believe Tshegofatso Mabasa should start the next encounter."

"We must be consistent without disclosing too much, but injuries sometimes drive us into circumstances we don't want to be in."

"The Pirates have had a string of bad luck with injuries recently, but I am pleased to see Mabasa play two games and score two goals."
