Kaizer Chiefs made a huge announcement?

Today at the FNB Stadium in Soweto, Kaizer Chiefs made a major technical team announcement.

Arthur Zwane, a long-serving member of the Naturena-based side, has distinguished himself as both a player and a coach in the club's development structures.

At a news conference this morning, the club stated that the 48-year-old will take over as head coach in an attempt to change the tide after a seven-year trophy drought. Assistant coach Dillon Sheppard has been named.

When Stuart Baxter left the club in April after ten months as manager, Zwane and Shephard were tasked with monitoring the team for the remaining seven league matches.

According to the Siya team, the Chiefs administration believes Zwane is the best contender for the hottest seat in South African football, and has offered him a three-year contract.

"We'd want to take this opportunity to congratulate coach Arthur Zwane on this significant appointment," said Kaizer Motaung, the club's chairperson.

"We've been working on naming Arthur as our head coach for many years, and it's now come to fruition. We've been inspired by his enthusiasm for the game and his eagerness to learn.
