On Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs will host Chippa United at the FNB Stadium, with both clubs desperate for a win.

The game begins at 17:30 p.m.

Amakhosi is in 12th place in the DStv Premiership standings, while Chippa United is in 13th place.

This will be Chiefs' 19th meeting with Chippa, and The South African takes a look at how the two clubs have fared in their previous 18 encounters.

Chiefs and Chippa met for the first time on September 29, 2012, shortly after the Gqeberha-based team was promoted to the PSL.

Tefu Mashamaite and Lehlohonolo Majoro scored goals for Amakhosi as they defeated Chippa 2-0 at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs would go on to dominate this match, winning three more games against Chippa without surrendering a single goal.

At August 2015, the Chilli Boys ended their losing streak against Chiefs with a goalless draw in Gqeberha.

Chippa became a difficult team for Chiefs to beat after that, with their first win coming in May 2016 at the Calabash, when they beat them 2-0.

Chippa has beaten Chiefs six times in total, all of which came after Stuart Baxter's departure, meaning the 68-year-old has never lost to the Chilli Boys.

Chiefs, on the other side, have a ten-game winning streak against Chippa to show their superiority.

In 18 outings versus Chippa, the Glamour Boys have scored 18 goals while conceding just 13 - six of which came at home.

There have been two draws between Chiefs and Chippa, both of which have finished in a goalless draw.

Chiefs hold the advantage over Chippa United based on the head-to-head statistics above, but will they use it to their advantage?

Will the Chiefs beat Chippa this time, or will it be a goalless match, or will Chippa win the game? We'll have to wait and watch how the game unfolds. May the best man prevail.
