Durban-based club owner Shaun "Mamkhize " Mkhize has been criticised for her recent actions at the FNB Stadium when her side beat Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend. Mamkhize's team, Royal AM FC thumped Chiefs 1-4 in their DSTV Premiership match. This was their first major win since joining top flight football earlier this season. Mamkhize bought the Premier Soccer League status of Bloemfontein Celtic, relocating the team to KZN and renaming it Royal AM FC.
Following the win, Mamkhize took to the ground along her son Andile Mpisane, who is the club's chairman, to celebrate the win. They had speakers and played music while they danced their way into early evening. This however is not a biggie compare to her morning after celebration she did on her social media.
Mamkhize posted countless messages bashing Chiefs and also praising her players. She celebrated and called the win history in making. Social media has come down hard on her saying that she should just relax as the season was still far from finish and she could find her team on the receiving had next.
"To my family, friends and supporters thank you for always being there and not giving up on us. Well done to our man of the match Victor Letsoalo, you played well son. Most of all I just want to take a moment to thank God for today. History was made….WOW WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!!!
On Sunday, she also commented on the victory and also addressed the wild celebrations in the stands.
“Waking up this morning after last nights’ win, I find myself still on cloud 9. What a great way to wake up…A WINNER,” she said. I must say that a key lesson I’ve learnt about winning is that you should celebrate the moment but don’t get too caught up in it and when you’re done celebrating ask yourself: ‘WHAT NEXT?’. Always be one step ahead or your victory will be short lived," she concluded.
Share your thoughts, do you think Mamkhize has every right to celebrate this win as she is and do you think Royal AM will get this lucky again?
