Kaizer Chiefs played Chippa United in their second Dstv Premiership fixture in 3 days. Amakhosi won the game courtesy of an own goal scored by a Chippa United.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach was less than pleased with his team after losing 3-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns this past Saturday. Gavin Hunt promised that he would drop under-performing players for the next match and he did just that.

Itumeleng Khune was to blame for 2 of the 3 goals that Kaizer Chiefs conceded against Mamelodi Sundowns. This led Gavin Hunt to drop the South African international goalkeeper. Replacing Khune with Nigerian veteran goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi. The change in goalkeepers brought about Kaizer Chiefs' first clean sheet this season.

The second casualty from the Mamelodi Sundowns game was Willard Katsande. The defensive midfielder had such anawful game against Mamelodi Sundowns, Gavin Hunt had no choice but to substitute him off at half-time.

Alongside Willard Katsande, Bernard Parker was also dropped from the starting lineup for having a poor game against Sundowns this past Saturday. The club's fans had long overdue called for Bernard Parker to be dropped.

What Gavin Hunt did against Chippa United is what coaches have failed to do at Kaizer Chiefs for a long time now. Senior players were never dropped despite their performances being below the required standard.
