Ratings of Orlando Pirates players: Against Chippa United, Lorch shines but Eva Nga falters.
The Chilli Boys humiliated the Buccaneers on Sunday, handing them their first loss of the year.
At the renowned Orlando Stadium, Chippa United defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 thanks to a late goal by Abdi Banda.
The Buccaneers were thus forced to lament their wasted opportunities in a game that they had dominated from beginning to end.
Frank Brentford defeated Manchester United 4-0, scoring all four goals inside the first 35 minutes. I hope journalists "give us credit."
While some Pirates players gave bad performances during the game, others stood out on that particular day.
The Bucs' supporters are rated by GOAL.
6/10 for Richard Ofori
didn't contribute anything to the Bucs' lopsided victory.
Throughout the entire game, Ofori only made one save, stopping Diego Appolis. But when Abdi Banda scored with a header while going unnoticed, he was severely outmatched.
6.0 Thabiso Monyane
a threat with electrifying runs down the right flank.
Monyane made numerous excellent crosses, but players like Deon Hotto and Kwape Peprah were unable to score from them. Towards the end of the game, he had trouble stopping Ronald Pfumbidzai defensively.
2.5/10 for Deon Hotto
made several encouraging forward moves while playing left wing-back.
Hotto, however, lacked his customary cutting edge and occasionally appeared careless with the ball in his hands. He maneuvered himself into advantageous positions in Chippa's box, but he lost focus.
9 /10 for Olisa Ndah
The Nigerian superstar had another excellent performance.
On the right side of the three-man Pirates defense, Ndah was unflappable. He was very adept at handling the ball and made pinpoint passes.
6.5/10 on Backpagepix for Innocent Maela
produced a better performance after having trouble against Stellenbosch in the previous week.
Maela was a stout defender who frustrated the Chili Boys with powerful tackles and timely clearances. He occasionally had a well-organized defense as well.
5.5 out of 10 for Backpagepix Nkosinathi Sibisi
operating in the middle of a three-man defense and got off to a poor start.
In the early half, Sibisi struggled against the strikers for Chippa. After the break, he recovered his composure, keeping Appolis in check until the Chippa striker was replaced.
Thabang Monare, Backpagepix, 6.5/10
One of the day's better Bucs performers.
A superb box-to-box midfielder, Monare. He appeared to be agile both on offense and defense. Thembinkosi Lorch set him up for a goal, and he was in charge of things in midfield.
Backpagepix\sGoodman 5.5/10 for Mosele
A little bit overzealous in his physical approach.
Mosele was fortunate to avoid a first-half caution.
But before being replaced, he did a great job of recovering the ball a couple times after the restart.
Thembinkosi Lorch scored a 9.5 out of 10.
Today's top pirate attacker.
On the wings, Lorch appeared vivacious and carried the ball goalward in an effort to set up scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.
After being put through on goal by Kwame Peprah, he ought to have scored.
5.5/10 for Vincent Pule
worked assiduously during his season debut.
The ball was in front of Pule, who strained to get it and had to dive to get it. He had the game's final opportunity, but goalie Lloyd Kazapua stopped him.
5.5/10 for Kwame Peprah
gained approval before Bienvenu Eva Nga.
Peprah appeared smart and game-focused, making runs to set up opportunities for his teammates.
However, in the last third, he occasionally lacked clarity.
4.5/10 for Bienvenu Eva Nga
He was given many opportunities when the hour-mark rolled around, but he blew them all from inside the box.
Pirates of Orlando, Tapelo Xoki.
Xoki Tapelo: 6/10
Elmo Kambindu, a hard-charging striker for Chippa who was inserted in the 68th minute, was well-contained by the player who appeared controlled and did well.
6/10 for Miguel Timm
In the 68th minute, he was introduced to the Bucs middle to bring strength and experience, and he did his job.
bandile shandu, the pirates of Orlando,
N/A Bandile Shandu
introduced at 87:07, which was too late to merit a rating.
