Mamelodi Sundowns Coach Provides Latest Update on Flu Outbreak at the Club's Camp

The most recent information regarding the influenza outbreak that occurred at the Mamelodi Sundowns club camp was released by coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

On Monday, Sundowns announced that several of their players have been diagnosed with the flu. As a result, several of the club's most important players will not be playing in the club's final game of the season, which will take place on Monday afternoon against Royal AM.

Sundowns prevailed over the opposition by a score of 3-2 and ended the season on a high note despite the fact that they were without several key players.

Themba Zwane, Lebohang Maboe, Thapelo Morena, and Andile Jali were some of the players for the Brazilians who did not participate in the last game of the season.

"The players are being tested for the full flu panel that includes influenza, Covid-19, and RSV PCR in order to determine the precise cause of the symptoms," Mngqithi confirmed. "The full flu panel includes influenza, Covid-19, and RSV."

The trainer continued by saying that it was essential to carry out the tests because the symptoms resembled signals of a number of other conditions.

The head coach, though, is still holding out hope that a significant number of the players who have been sidelined will be able to return in time for the club's Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.
