The unfortunate Kaizer Chiefs dropped points at home, FNB Stadium, in their first CAF Champions League group stage encounter against Horoya Athletic Club of Guinea.
Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up was evident that Gavin Hunt wanted to win the match as he bolstered his line-up with the attacking prowess of both Kearyn Baccus and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, with the addition of Bernard Parker to assist going forward.
The home team, Kaizer Chiefs, enjoyed greater ball possession and had numerous chances, and were favourites to win the match, but it remained goalless at the end of 90+ minutes.
Horoya AC goalkeeper, Moussa Camara, was hard at work and denied Kaizer Chiefs clear goal scoring opportunities with his many saves that he executed.
When Samir Nurkovic beat him twice with headers, the Amakhosi talisman was ruled off-side on both attempts, with the first call a tight one to call, but it was offside too.
The visiting team had two or three chances, but they did not really threaten Kaizer Chiefs or even look like a team that approached the game with a winning mentality.
They still enjoy being at the top of the table after two games with four points and a two goal difference, followed by Wydad Athletic Club that also won its game against Petro de Luanda of Angola by 1—0.
With the draw, The Phefeni Glamour Boys, are on the third position in Group C after only one draw resulting in just a point.
Amakhosi have played their 5th game in total in this year's CAF Champions League campaign, and they are yet to concede a goal, and have won two away games and drawn the three home games.
The team approached the game with a winning mentality, they were just unfortunate after the missed chances and saves by Camara who did a wonderful job for Horoya.
