Mamelodi Sundowns has had a good season in the DStv Premiership League than most teams so far. They have been on an incredible form as they continue to dominate the South African football. They have been consistent enough to win back to back league titles. Their form has made them win awards for the month of December. Andile Jali has won Player of the month award, while Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches Manqoba Mngithi and Rhulani Mokwena won coach of the month award. Mamelodi Sundowns remained number one in the DStv Premiership League despite the bad ending to 2021 in December.
Nkosingiphile Ngcobo who players for Kaizer Chiefs has won goal of the month award, for his goal he scored against Maritzburg United. The judging panel on press release they said "Jali was outstanding in December. He was a marvel to watch as he bossed the Sundowns’ midfield. His experience has been invaluable during a loaded period in December. The manner in which he broke down opponents’ attacks and in turn start build-ups to Sundowns attacks, which on some occasions led to goals, has been very impressive."
