Nigeria's Samuel Chukwueze scored the winning goal for Villarreal in the Europa league.(Opinion)

Villarreal played against Sivasspor away from home in the Europa league and won by a single goal on matchday 5 to top Group I.

Villarreal managed to score the only goal of the match against Sivasspor in the Europa league on matchday 5.

Villareal came out top of Group I after the win with 13 points after 5 matches played with 4 wins 1 draw and no losses.

Villarreal dominated Group I, as they faced Maccabi Tel Aviv, Sivasspor and Qarabag. Maccabi Tel Aviv are currently in second place with Sivasspor in third and Qarabag already eliminated from the Europa league with only one point on the scoreboard.

Villarreal faced Sivasspor away from home and they managed to bag all three points and keep a clean sheet in the process.

Villarreal scored the only goal of the match when Nigerian national Samuel Chukwueze scored the winning goal for his side in the 75th minute as they lead 1-0.

Unfortunately for Sivasspor who had the home ground advantage they could not reply to Villarreal's attack.

Sivasspor are third in Group I with 6 points and can only progress to the next stage if they win and Maccabi Tel Aviv loses their last Group stage match.

Sivasspor had a low 31% ball possession with 7 shots at goal and only 2 shots on target. Villarreal had a high 69% ball possession with 10 attempts at goal and only 1 shot on target which resulted in a goal.
