Ghana Vs Bafana: Ghana Football Association React To The Ongoing SAFA Complaint To FIFA

Ghana has expressed its displeasure at the protest by SAFA that South Africa was robbed of the opportunity to play in the 2022 World Cup after Ghana defeated Bafana Bafana 1-0 last Sunday.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku sent a message to Patrice Motsepe, the CAF president after the South African Football Association filed a complaint with FIFA based on the outcome of the Ghana Bafana match.

The world football governing body confirmed on Wednesday that SAFA's protest based on the defeat by Ghana would be sent to the Disciplinary Committee on 23 November 2021 to make decisions based on their findings.

Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, said he does not expect the CAF president, Patrice Motsepep to take sides in the current situation on the ground despite his nationality.

"Motsepe is the president of CAF and not the president of SAFA. He doesn’t call the shots as SAFA – we voted for Motsepe to represent a truly democratic African Confederation Football and not to take sides.”

“And for Motsepe that I’ve known him will never take sides, and I don’t expect him to take sides," says Kurt Okraku
