Erwin Saavedra is a soccer player for the Mamelodi Sundowns.
Bolivar will receive $1,200,000 in compensation (R18M). Erwin has a three-year deal that can be extended for an additional 18 months.
Since joining Bolivar in 2018, the 25-year-old right midfielder, who can also play as a right back, has made 93 appearances for the club in all competitions. He has 23 goals and 20 assists in his career.
Saveedra surpasses Mbulelo Mabizela's 16-year record of being the most expensive player in PSL history to become the most expensive player in the league's history.
"I feel sorry for the Sundowns development players, because their desire of playing for the first squad will remain a dream for the rest of their lives," Lethabo wrote.
The Sundowns' Gaston Sirino is from the same Bolivar side as Saavedra, and also played for the Brazilians before moving to the United States.
Meanwhile, the Pretoria-based team is currently atop the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log. Because they are untouchable, they are causing headaches for other teams to contend with. They are looking forward to securing their positions and winning the league once more with the addition of new players.
