The opposition benches has expressed unhappiness at the idea of MaMkhize requesting for donations to fund her soccer team Royal AM FC for a period of 3 years.
A leader of the DA in the Ethekwini council stated that it was not fair for the funds meant for tax payers to be used on a soccer team of the very rich MaMkhize.
The leader of DA even said that she rather sells off her luxury Rolls Royce which she had recently purchased.
This came after the city council approached the executive committee to approve a funding scheme for the soccer team value at R15,7 Million of which would be R5,25 Million each year.
What is shocking about this is that MaMkhize flashes her wealth all over social media and Mzansi. She also recently bought another soccer team.
The municipality tried to backup this by claiming that this would boost the economy of the city but such reasoning is not understandable as soccer stadiums are not open for the public.
