AmaZulu Promise To Beat Arrows Into Peaces

September 22, 2021

WANTS to close the gap on DStv Premiership by their neighbors, the Zulu FC players have been injected with the excellent results they have received from traveling to the Caf Champions League.

Luvuyo Memela, a cornerback, and Philani Zulu, who plays left-back for Benni McCarthy's side, agree that their game against the Arrows today at 3pm, at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, gives them a chance to win their first win of the season.

In three league games, Usuthu have not scored.

This is accompanied by the fact that AmaZulu, who finished second in the DStv Premiership last season, have not known the league win since the start of the 2021/2020 season.

However, things have changed in the Champions League where the team has scored three goals in Malawi's victory.

The result seems to have angered Memela and Zulu who believe that the end of goal-scoring marks means they will start winning league games.

"Our win in Malawi will make us go to the Arrows with the urge to do the same for them as the win is still heard in the league," said Memela.

“Goals are the ones we are denying at the moment but it is good that the opportunities we have been building for them means there is bad luck following us.

“Our confidence has returned as we have remembered that we can score goals. Although it will not be easy but playing with the Arrows, this is an opportunity to continue with what we have already started in Malawi, ”said Memela.

Echoing this, Zulu said: “Home games are always tough because it's against the neighbors but as we come back from an unexpected win, I think the confidence and strength we gained from what we did in Malawi should be used by the Arrows.

“It is important that we always remember that the Arrows play good football and play the same way we do. This will help us to avoid getting into trouble, as in previous games.

“Yes, it is important to win (this game) because it is a home game, it is very important as the joy of winning it goes a long way.

"Our scoring in Malawi is an indication that we are now starting to take advantage of the opportunities we are creating."

The Arrows have won once in three games and have four points on the log. The big difference from its neighbors is that they have netted five times in the league than those who have not scored yet.
