Bucs Teen Sensation Gets 'Crazy' Reviews

Mandla Ncikazi, the very first coach of Orlando Pirates, has weighed in on the performance of teenage striker Boitunelo Radiopane, who made his debut for the club. After lighting up the DStv Diski Challenge with seven goals this season, a promotion to the first squad seemed a logical progression for the 19-year-old.

Pirates first-team coaches Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids, like Simiso Bophela before him, took a chance on the youthful phenom and gave him his debut in their goalless draw against Golden Arrows, which impressed the seasoned coach."I hope there was one shot, I'm not sure if it struck the defender or the goalie, it would have been wonderful for him to score on debut, but I'm still really pleased for him," Ncikazi told the club's media after the game. The coach also suggested that a few more new faces may be brought to the Buccaneer's first squad in the near future, depending on how they perform for the club's reserve side.

"We must be developmental in our approach and enable the children to grow." That is the attitude the club must take. Give a youngster a chance if there's any prospect of him doing well in the MDC and I'm not disappointed in how he performed, in fact, I'm extremely delighted," Ncikazi added.
