TWIST: Read Why SAFA Announced Hugo Broos Appointment Today

The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) announced today the Belgian-born coach Hugo Broos (69) as the new Bafana Bafana head coach on a five-year contract and will earn around US$50,000 monthly.

There was a twist in Broos appointment. It has now been revealed why SAFA announced his appointment today. According to the sources, DR Congo were preparing to announce Broos as head coach this afternoon but he changed his mind all of a sudden and was announced as the Bafana Bafana head coach today instead.

The DR Congo Football Association (FECOFA) will now decide whether to appoint Sebastien Migne (48) or open for new applications.

Africa should learn to invest in their indigenous coaches. These third class European coaches are just after the pay. The problem with African football is that they want short term solutions. Our local coaches are not given enough respect and time to instill our local philosophy.

We no longer live in the times of patience in football. This is not the Sir Alex Ferguson era, if results are not forthcoming then you are a useless as a coach and local coaches have proven that hence we outsource in most cases.
