Chiefs stars recieve a warning
In their second game of the 22/23 Premiership season, Kaizer Chiefs defeated Maritzburg United 3-0 on Tuesday at the FNB Stadium.
Ashley Du Preez scored his first goal for his new team, Keegan Dolly scored his first of the season, and adolescent Mduduzi Shabalala scored his maiden goal in the league as Amakhosi coasted to a much-needed victory.
The head coach, Arthur Zwane, underlined to his team that no one was promised a starting berth despite the good final score.
We told every player that we would encourage competitiveness at the start of the season. Nobody ever leaves their home with the expectation that they will be in the starting lineup Everyone would have to work harder and demonstrate their ability to play for a team of Kaizer Chiefs' caliber, the 48-year-old said, adding that the players knew this well.
