Khama Billiat opens up about his new role as Kaizer Chiefs prepare to take on Mamelodi Sundowns

Saturday marks the clash of the Titans as Kaizer Chiefs take on reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in what promises to be an explosive match.

South African football fans from all walks of life are eagerly awaiting this titanic clash.

But not as much as talisman Khama Billiat. The Amakhosi play maker joined Chiefs from Sundowns and he relishes the moment of squaring off against his former paymasters.

But this time he will do so after being appointed as senior player.

At 31, Khama Billiat is going into his fifth season with Amakhosi and is now considered one of the club’s senior players. He appeared 29 times for the club last season with a contribution of eight goals and eight assists.

Billiat told the media that it will be vital for him to lead his charges from the front so as to inspire the younger generation.

"Now we find ourselves in a situation where we also have to give what we have learned and to make sure that we’re better leaders," said Billiat.
