Orlando Pirates have signed quality players for the 2020/21 season, but they are failing to challenge for the DStv Premiership title as their strikers are nursing injuries. Zakhele Lepasa, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Gabadinho Mhango have been struggling with injuries and it has forced the coach Josef Zinnbauer to play with a recognised striker. They have a striker, Jean-Marc Makusu, but he is finding it difficult to break into the the matchday squad since he joined them in November from AS Vita.
According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates are monitoring Bloemfontein Celtic talented striker Victor Letsoalo with a keen interest. He has been on the Buccaneers radar since last year. In the recent weeks, Pirates have been short of strikers because of injuries and the fans have been wondering why Zinnbauer isn't using Makusu.
The source said: “Letsoalo’s progress at Celtic is being monitored at Pirates and he is one of the players they are following with interest."
The 27-year-old Letsoalo has already scored five goals this season. His contract is set to expire in June 2023.
