As Kaizer Chiefs are going through a transition they look to offload some of the aging players who have been the team for long to create space for young ones that will be joining them at the end of the season.
Bernard Parker is one of the veterans that has struggled with game time under Gavin Hunt which has created some uncertainty surrounding his at the club.
The 34-year-old one of Amakhosi's longest serving players and highest earners. However his shooting boots have been missing as he hasn't found the back of the net since April 2019.
Parker is currently in his last 6 months of his contract and the Glamour boys have exercised their option of extending it by another year. This means he'll have to be offered a new contract if they wish to extend his stay at the club.
The Soweto giants are looking to rebuild a strong young fresh squad which is why they've excluded Parker out of the equation. His contract looks unlikely that it'll be renewed as he's currently struggling to be a first team regular.
What do you think of this? Should his contract be extended? Please let me know in the comment section below.
