Kaizer Chiefs have renewed their interests in Mamelodi Sundowns star as the Naturena based outfit is looking to bolster their squad.
Despite making not less than 10 new signings in the previous window transfer Amakhosi are still looking to bring more players to the club to form a quality squad going forward.
With Sundowns being a star studded club, some of the club's high profile players have fallen out of favour due to lack of game time and injuries.
Sibusiso Vilakazi is one of Sundowns players who has not seen much game time at the club in recent times.
Injuries have been a main setback to the player's career.
According to reports Chiefs are monitoring the player's situation at Downs closely.
Vilakazi's contract with the Brazilians will run until 2024.
Chiefs have been targeting the player long time since he was still at the now defunct Bidvest Wits but the player decided to join Sundown in 2016.
During his early seasons at Downs the player was one of the key players under the leadership of Pitso Mosimane.
Vilakazi managed to make more than 130 appearances at Sundowns since he joined the club in 2016.
He also won four league titles, the MTN8 and a CAF Super Cup with Sundowns.
Reports suggest that Chiefs have reignited their interest to the player since they could not get him from Wits.
The reports also suggest that there are talks within the Amakhosi camp that the club could table an offer for the services of the player.
Chiefs and Sundowns are no strangers when it comes to transfer business.
Chiefs have previously secured a number of players from Sundowns including the likes of Katlego Mphela, Donald Khuse, Sizwe Motaung, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat on a free transfer.
However Vilakazi is still under contract with Downs, Amakhosi will have to dig deep into their pockets to secure his services.
