Former Chiefs' Target Close To Signing A Deal? Check Out The Player

Date: 18/01/2022

The January transfer window are heating up with more and more deals going through each day as it's starting to pick up momentum with clubs trying to get the signing part over and done with. The transfer window started rather slow with only Mamelodi Sundowns making an early signing in the window as they brought on Bradley Surprise Ralani from Cape Town City FC. After Ralani signed for Sundowns a lot more deals has been completed with Sekhukhune United bringing in three players at the same time as they have been unveiled at the club already.

Kaizer Chiefs has been linked with many players in the transfer window, but Stellenbosch FC's Sibusiso Mthethwa is a former target of Kaizer Chiefs and it's now believed that the Cape Town based player are set to sign a new deal in the PSL according to his representatives. Sibusiso Mthethwa has performed above expectations for Stellenbosch and has been a key player for the club this season, and the club does not want to lose out on the player, as his current contract is set to expire in June 2022.

The former Chiefs target did so good that the club was afraid that he would sign a pre-contract with another club of his choice, and being previously linked to Kaizer Chiefs, the club has decided to extend his contract. The player has not yet signed with the club to prolong his stay beyond June, but his representative has made it known that they in talks of a new deal which is imminent.

“It is true that we are negotiating with Stellenbosch FC regarding the extension of Sibusiso Mthethwa’s contract. The player’s contract is coming to an end in June and the club is keen on extending his deal and we are currently in negotiations regarding that. The negotiations are ongoing", said the representative. Sibusiso Mthethwa's hard work for the season to date are paying off as he might just see himself being a long time regular for Stellenbosch FC who has done remarkably well this season.
