Pitso Mosimane's team tasted defeat in the Egyptian Super Cup tie with a penalty shootout loss of 3-2 to El-Gaish, who is believed to have secured their first-ever Super Cup title on Tuesday night.
In response to the loss, a statement read, "Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly's president, decided to impose a EGP 300 000 (R281 529) fine on Al Ahly players, director of football and the coaching staff after the disappointing performance in the Egyptian Super Cup on Tuesday, despite the great support that the team receives to achieve titles and meet the expectations of the fans.”
“Also, the administrative staff and the medical staff will be subjected to a fine that is relative to their salaries.”
Mosimane's side went into the clash as heavy favourites, but could not deliver on expectations which has now lead to the entire playing and coaching staff being punished.
Good, it will make them work hard. Good strategy, it should also be applied at chiefs, It should be on everyone's contract, they will push each other to do well.
This strategy must also apply to one of the Soweto giants if they want to win and compete for a top spot every season. That's why Al Ahly SC is the best team in the continent and in the world, it compete each and every year and was voted African Team of the century/decade.
I love how some delusional fans of that other FC ALWAYS run naked on social media every time Ahly looses, saying "...Ahly will sack Pitso and he'll return to club he supported when growing up..."
As a Kaizer Chiefs fan,I think Kaizer Chiefs should also introduce this,we cannot handle poor performances and results such as the one against Royal AM.
Reject that nosense , rhaaa loosing is normal, they should then hire computers maybe to get accurate results thy are looking for, Anyway you may come home the Mighty bucks will welcome you with warm hands.
Stay strong coach. There are many who don't like the idea of seeing you in that position. I am glad you took this role it will build your character as I believe you are destined for even greater things.
