The Amakhosi case has been postponed by the PSL.

The DC hearing against Kaizer Chiefs, which was scheduled to take place on Friday, has been postponed by the Premier Soccer League (DC).

Chiefs were penalised by the league for failing to show up for their two DStv Premiership games in December against Golden Arrows and Cape Town City, respectively.

The club claimed Covid-19 cases at their home base in Naturena as the reason for the postponement, but the league, as stated in their rule book, does not recognize Covid as a valid reason to postpone a match, hence the match was called off.

However, it turns out that the club had already sought intervention from the South African Football Association (Safa) arbitration panel.

According to Zola Majavu, the PSL's newly appointed prosecutor, the matter was heard in the PSL's deliberative council, where Kaizer Chiefs filed an application for the deliberative council to be stayed pending the outcome of the urgent referral to arbitration under the auspices of the South African Football Association (Safa).

"We came to the conclusion that the topic should and could be postponed." However, it is necessary to establish timetables in order to prevent the problem from falling through the cracks. This situation must be resolved as soon as possible, ideally before the league's season comes to a close, it was also decided.

In light of that acceptance, the DC was inclined to issue a stay of execution until the outcome of their arbitration at Safa was determined.

This subject was then postponed until February 25 at 16:00, after which the matter would be heard in open court. Of course, depending on the outcome of the arbitration, it is possible that the matter will not be resolved in the manner in which it is currently structured.

"Whatever the conclusion, we should not try to predict it ahead of time." Should the arbitration be completed before the members' next cause of action is determined, the prosecutor was directed to communicate with them about the next course of action, keeping in mind that no one knows what the outcome of the arbitration will be at this time." Should the arbitration be completed before the members' next cause of action is determined, the prosecutor was directed to communicate with them about the next course of action".
