The veteran player, who was born in Khayelitsha but has spent the last two and a half years playing for Foolad FC in Iran, will soon have his contract with the club expire. The player has spent his entire professional career in Iran.
Both Chiefs and Pirates have been linked with the Bafana Bafana international since January. However, despite the fact that Chiefs and Pirates are believed to have not yet completed strengthening their respective squads with the new signings for next season, the player is currently weighing his options, and it is possible that Chiefs and Pirates will not be able to acquire Patosi.
According to information provided by the Siya crew in the past, Foolad is eager to make a new contract offer to the 29-year-old player, despite the fact that he has garnered interest from a few other clubs overseas.
In the meantime, Patosi has been seen at his old club, Cape Town City, who are also interested in getting back together with him as part of their preparations for the CAF Champions League.
