In modern football, many players in the PSL's top flight seek to stay longer in the sport as coaches or pundits once they decide to retire.
However, a rare few footballers in the industry have quit the game altogether at a very young age and have completely thrived.
In the history of the PSL, Phikelelani Terrence Khumalo is one of the rare stories ever told. According to his player profile on 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘴, the one time highly rated forward plied his trade at the Golden Arrows Reserve side before changing careers from a semi contact sport to a full on contact sport which is boxing.
Making the transition, the product of the Golden Arrows Development Academy who is now affectionately known as "Stinger" has completely thrived in his alternative career path. According to his profile on 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘳𝘦𝘤, the former footballer turned boxer who fights under the middleweight division has 4 TKO's in 5 bouts with his only defeat coming in his last fight against Congolese international Mbiya Kanku who is currently based in South Africa.
In addition, we have since had the privilege to learn that the Eastern Cape born former footballer turned boxer is expected to lock horns with Ngcebo Sibiya in a KZN title fight under the theme "Nowhere To Run" at the Greyville Convention Centre on 11 September 2022.
On Thursday, Phikelelani Khumalo took to his Instagram stories to share a video where he proved that he is a beast at the gym where he was captured training before his much anticipated bout where he is expected to redeem himself.
Meanwhile, as of late, Phikelelani Khumalo has further taken to his Instagram stories to share a poster of his upcoming bout where his opponent Ngcebo Sibiya has a boxing record of 3 wins and 0 losses, according to his profile on 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘳𝘦𝘤.
