Orlando Pirates shared the glory with Cape Town City FC, after they gave away a penalty in the second half of the match for a 1-1 draw at full-time which could have been a 1-0 win for Orlando Pirates at full-time.
Orlando Pirates had to settle for a point against Cape Town City FC away from home, as they jeopardised their lead by giving away a second half penalty which cost them 2 points in Cape Town. Orlando Pirates was on a promising start in the match, and after 13 minutes into the first half of the match, they claimed the lead at 1-0.
The lead was all thanks to Happy Jele who scored a goal from Vincent Pule's assist, but they could not keep the lead for maximum points away from home. The home side made no mistake in the second half of the match when Mduduzi Mdantsane scored in the 54th minute from the penalty spot for a 1-1 draw.
The two clubs battled it out until the end of the match just to end the match in a 1-1 draw. Orlando Pirates was in the 4th place spot at the time they lead the match at 1-0, but after Cape Town City FC levelled the score Pirates dropped to the 5th place spot, with MaMkhize's Royal AM moved into 4th place.
Happy Jele and Vincent Pule did a great job for the lead, but a point after full-time is better than nothing away from home. Cape Town City FC also did good by not accepting defeat at home.
