Following the conclusion of the off-season for both the team and the players, Mamelodi Sundowns football club has resumed training.
One of the players who suffered an injury against Al-Merrikh in the CAF Champions League in February of this year was seen returning in practice with the rest of the team.
Sundowns' signing of a Bolivian Rulani Mokwena said Erwin Saavedra picked up a second injury after suffering one in February when he returned to playing for the team again in March, which was a setback for the player who was scheduled to make a comeback.
He missed a small portion of the 2012–22 season due to ailments, but he is now in terrific shape thanks to returning to club training.
Prior to preseason games, the club began training on DAY 1 and took photos of its players during that time. During the workout, Erwin Saavedra, Peter Shalulile, and Gaston were photographed, and the club posted the images on Twitter.
Saavedra has already fully recovered from his injuries, so when the 2022–23 season begins, he will be in top physical condition.
