Confirmed: Official statement on the future of this Sundowns' midfielder will soon be released.

It has been confirmed that a formal declaration on the future of this Sundowns midfielder will be released shortly.

Mokwena offers her thoughts about Hlompho's future.

Rulani Mokwena, Mamelodi Sundowns' co-coach, has confirmed that the club would release an official statement about the future of midfielder Hlompho Kekana in the near future.

Sundowns won the MTN8 championship for the first time in the club's history despite the absence of Kekana, who had left the club before the start of the season to train with another club.

Denis Onyango, the Brazilians' goalkeeper, served as captain and accepted the MTN8 trophy on their behalf on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Johannesburg.

Mokwena has announced that the club will make an announcement on Kekana's future in the near future.

"I believe the club will publish a statement in the near future," Mokwena said.

"I have some exciting plans in the works that I would like not to discuss at this time."

"This is a very good club, and I recommend it. Hlompho is a club that takes excellent care of its members, and this is true of all clubs.

"Hlompho is deserving of the praise he is receiving from this club.

In the meanwhile, I don't want to say anything more than, "Let's wait for the club to release a formal statement."

With ten years of service at Sundowns, Kekana is the most decorated player in the history of the Premier League.

His eight league championships, including two with SuperSport United, set a new record for a player in the league's history.
