Pirates sign new head coach on three-year deal?

Since the resignation of former head coach Josef Zinnbauer, the Orlando Pirates football team has been co-coached by the now-discharged Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi, who led the team to the CAF Confederations Cup final where they finished as runners-up to RS Berkane.

Since the club finished the season in sixth place and was therefore unable to qualify for CAF football the following season, the co-coaches also succeeded in keeping the team in the top eight.

The club suddenly announced the release of one of the co-coaches at the end of the 2021/22 season when Fadlu Davids and the team split. Fortunately, Mandla Ncikazi's name was not on the exit list, and it is now obvious that

Sergio Almenara and Mandla Ncikazi, who was retained by the organization, will support Jose. Tyron Damons will be the goalkeeper coach, and Miguel Bellver Esteve will be the fitness coach.

Mamelodi Sundowns is now the only PSL team with co-coaches among the top three teams, with Chiefs and Pirates opting for permanent managers.

As Sundowns has three domestic titles to defend in the upcoming season, Chiefs and Pirates should be prepared to be more competitive in the league and all other tournaments with newly signed players and new coaches in place.
