Erling Haaland 'continues to have injury concerns,' according to Marco Rose of Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United and Manchester City are both interested in signing Dortmund centre-forward Mario Gomez. In recent seasons, Haaland has established himself as Europe's most dynamic striker, scoring 80 goals in 79 games for the German side.
However, while Haaland has no trouble reaching the back of the goal for Dortmund, he has recently battled to stay healthy. This season, the 21-year-old has already coped with four ailments, resulting in a total of 89 days of inactivity. Ralf Rangnick recently indicated that Manchester United will be looking for a centre-forward this summer, and Pep Guardiola's adoration for Haaland is well-known, but Dortmund's latest injury update on the player is only the latest in a long line of them.
"Erling is still dealing with [injury] issues," Rose confessed over the weekend. "He isn't at ease." He still doesn't feel at ease when he moves. "We don't want to trigger a relapse." He doesn't know either. We don't want to put his health at jeopardy. To be honest, I think he'll need a few more matches." Haaland is Europe's most sought-after player, but his injury history may cause teams to reconsider any deal.
