The Dstv Premiership monthly individual awards is out for players and coaches for their contributions to their respective teams in the league as confirmed by the PSL on Thursday morning. The awards is for October/November and without any surprise, co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena takes the award for Dstv Premiership coach of the month for the second time in a row, as their Mamelodi Sundowns side remains unbeaten in the league to date as they deserve the award without a doubt. Keagan Dolly who has been only an asset for Kaizer Chiefs scoring a total of 6 goals finding a new form in front of goal and building a partnership with Khama Billiat has outdone himself claiming double awards, as he walked away with Dstv Premiership player of the month and Dstv Premiership goal of the month awards, which he also deserves as his contributions has landed Chiefs a second place spot before the Covid outbreak at the club stopped the club from competing in the league.
"Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena have won the Dstv Premiership coach of the month for October/November, the second month in a row the Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches have claimed the monthly prize. The duo beat Macdonald Makhubedu of Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs' Stuart Baxter to the award, after the Brazilians won five of their seven fixtures, going unbeaten in the period. During the October/November period, they beat Swallows FC, Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United, Marumo Gallants and Sekhukhune United. They were only held twice, scoring 13 goals in the process and only conceding twice. The judging panel consisting of commentators, analysts and journalists were full of praise about how the duo have remained consistent in keeping the structure and style of play in the team. They were also impressed by their squad rotation and how well they've made it easy for new players such as Neo Maema and Grant Kekana to fit in and help in producing results ", the PSL confirmed in their statement.
"Kaizer Chiefs new signing Keagan Dolly marked his return to South African top flight football by claiming the Dstv Premiership player of the month for October/November. The Bafana Bafana winger was selected by a combination of votes from the panel of experts, which saw him beat Sundowns' Peter Shalulile and Sekhukhune'Toaster Nsabatha to the award. In the period, he scored five goals and provided three assists. Dolly completed a clean sweep when he also walked away with the Dstv Premiership Goal of the Month prize for his strike against Chippa United ", the league confirmed.
There can be no denying that the votes was based on improved performances, as the co-coaches as well as Dolly really did their best in October/November and became better versions of themselves which has won them the monthly prizes.
