SOWETO : AmaZulu early season continued when they yet again came from behind to beat Swallows FC 3 - 2 in a DStv Premiership clash on Friday night at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
Usuthu, like in the previous two games were forced to come from behind in order to claim all three points.
Marquee signing, Gabadinho Mhango profited from a perfect cheep from man of the match, Keagan Buchanan to open the scoring for the visitors with a smart lop in the 24th minute.
Not to be outdone, debutant, Keagan Allan netted his first goal in the colours of the Dube Birds in the 43rd minute to force the tie evenly match in the half time break.
In the second half, the home side took the lead for the first time in the game when the young defender slotted home a penalty, to score his and Swallows second goal of the night in the 66th minute.
But Usuthu, as it has been the case in their two games, responded after ringing changes with Ethan Brooks, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Dumisani Zuma all coming in the second half.
AmaZulu's second goal had a little bit of fortune with Swallows keeper Thakasani Mbanjwa failing to hold the ball from a corner in the 79th minute to bring Usuthu level pegging.
With the scores even, the game needed a hero and Mbongeni Gumede, who had a hand in Swallows opening goal, made amends by heading home from a Riaan Hanamub set piece cross to give AmaZulu a full haul of points in Soweto.
The win, a third on the bounce for the Durban side means that they are now top of the DStv Premiership log standings after reaching double figures of 10 points.
For Swallows, they suffer their second loss of the season and drop to 9th on the log.
