Chelsea will play Juventus in their next Champions League match tomorrow, and the result might determine whether Thomas Tuchel's side finishes first or second in their group. Chelsea have been in good form since their loss to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, but Thomas Tuchel's team will face a difficult assignment, since Juventus have been performing better in recent encounters in all competitions. Chelsea may leapfrog Juventus and qualify for the round of sixteen with a straightforward win.
Chelsea will be seeking to build on their impressive performance against Leicester City last weekend. They outclassed Leicester City, and if they want to beat Juventus, they'll have to do the same or even better. The following is a possible Chelsea lineup for tomorrow.
Due to the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz's failure to deliver on a weekly basis, Thomas Tuchel will turn to Timo Werner, who has returned to training with the group. Before both players were injured, the German forward was establishing a fantastic relationship with Romelu Lukaku. Timo Werner will have a greater impact on the game than Kai Havertz, who has a history of missing key chances that could have helped Chelsea win games.
In Chelsea's most recent match, Christian Pulisic came on as a substitute and scored against Leicester City; the American scored his second goal in four appearances while playing fewer minutes. After their performance against Leicester City, we don't expect Mason Mount to get more playing time than Christian Pulisic tomorrow. Hakim Ziyech, who has been brilliant as a substitute against Leicester City, might possibly make it into the starting lineup.
N'golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been brought in to replace Jorginho in the midfield. Mateo Kovacic is still out of the squad, but he could return against Manchester United in the next league game. Last Saturday, N'golo Kante put up a strong display against Leicester City, scoring his second goal of the season in familiar terrain. The Frenchman is gradually regaining his form.
Only Andreas Christensen replaces Trevoh Chalobah in defense, while Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva maintain their positions in Chelsea's first team following a strong start to the season. Reece James begins ahead of Cesar Azpilicueta, with Ben Chilwell continuing to play on the left wing. Chelsea's Ben Chilwell and Reece James have recently been at their best.
