In January, another new face will appear at Pirates?

Another kid has been pounding on the Orlando Pirates first team door with his spectacular performances for the club's reserves, according to the Siya crew.

In recent years, the Pirates have not been shy about giving deserving young players a chance.

Thabiso Sesane, Azola Tshobeni, Kopano Thuntsane, and Boitumelo Radiopane are just a few of the Soweto giants' names that have been mentioned.

Sonwabo Khumalo, a defensive midfielder, is the latest player to be linked with a promotion to the club's first squad, according to the newest information reaching the crew.

The kid, who came through the renowned Augusto Palacios Youth Apprenticeship, was one of four players to graduate to the Buccaneers setup in 2020, and has spent time working with the first team under the supervision of first team trainers Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.

According to Siya sources, Khumalo is a 'Sergio Busquets' sort of player with a lot of promise. According to the source, Khumalo has impressed the Buccaneers' technical staff and might be given a first-team contract as early as January 2022.

"We need to take a developmental approach and give the kids room to grow." This is the attitude the club must take. In a recent interview with the media, Ncikazi said, "If there's any chance of a child performing well in the MDC, give him an opportunity."
