Junior Khanye says Kaizer Chiefs should not be relying on Samir Nurkovic

When former Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp was still Amakhosi coach, man that was the time the Glamour boys where on top nearly the whole season. From the start of the campaign with Samir Nurkovic banging in goals nearly every week. That was the time when they could believe the PSL title might come back to Naturena. But loosing the title chase in the last day of the season when they failed to beat Baroka FC was one the fans will always remember. It reminds me of Manchester United and ManCity when Sergio Aguero scores the last minute goal to spoil city’s rival to claim another title under Italian Roberto Mancini. Chiefs relied a lot to Samir Nurkovic but alone he couldn’t help hem lift the title. Former midfielder Junior Khanye has told reporters that he feels Amakhosi shouldn’t rely much on the Serbian striker.

” That’s good for Kaizer Chiefs fans for him to be back for Nedbank Cup tournament although he’s not the kind of player that Chiefs should be relying on in my opinion. Chiefs have been winning games playing with a false number nine and Khama Billiat is doing very well in that role. I still don’t understand how Samir Nurkovic plays. I am a fan of Kaizer Chiefs, but Nurkovic’s return doesn’t excite me because the team has been doing well without him. I know the fans are excited, but I am not. Keagan Dolly is another’s player who has been doing well in playing as a false nine and the team has been winning,” Khanye told Soccer reporters. We willing see where and how he will fit in after his return.
