Itumeleng Khune has to accept the situation facing at Naturena and find a new team

A retired goalkeeper believes it is time to make peace with the fact that Itumeleng Khune’s position as first-choice at Kaizer Chiefs is now in the history books.

Khune is yet to play in the league this season with his only appearance having come in the MTN8 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in mid-August.

Since then, the veteran keeper has been in the matchday squad just once with Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Peterson exchanging the place to deputise for Daniel Akpeyi.

We need to be realistic about this because we don’t know what the real issue is with him not even being able to sit on the bench. Chiefs have three other keepers and two of them are younger in Bvuma and Peterson who are all capable.

I think the club has realised that they cannot be stuck in the past and with Bvuma he is in the national team, so he is the future.

Itumeleng Khune is one of the best goalkeeper the country produce I personal think chiefs should rope him in development he can share his skills and knowledge with upcoming goalkeepers.

It’s always painful to see great players age. Khune was talented. One of the best goalies with throwing and ball kicking ability; and he was a leader and committed. He goes away as a legend.

He is still a good goalie but the problem is that he is not given a fair chance like other players. He played and did well but one mistake he was out that madala coach is not patient with Itu he is still better than all our goalkeepers.
