Cape Umoya United played against University of Pretoria FC in the NFD and suffered an unfortunate 2-0 home defeat.


Cape Umoya United played their latest fixture in the GladAfrica Championship against University of Pretoria FC at home, and suffered an unfortunate 2-0 defeat to the visiting side. Cape Umoya United who had the home ground in the match let down their guard way too easily as they conceded just before the half time break, and very late in the second half of the match. University of Pretoria FC did not only win the away fixture and the three points, but they also kept a clean sheet in the match as they held the home side away from goal. To make matters worse for the home side, Sirigo Kammies received a red card in the 60th minute of the match as Cape Umoya United had to continue the match with only 10 men on the field. University of Pretoria FC's win is all thanks to Sanele Barns and Kau Mohlamonyane who scored the winning goals in the match.

University of Pretoria FC opened the scoring in the first half of the match when Sanele Barns scored the opening goal of the match in the 41st minute of the match to lead at 1-0 at the half time break. University of Pretoria FC managed to extend their lead to 2-0 in the match when Kau Mohlamonyane scored his goal very late in the 90th minute to lead at 2-0. University of Pretoria FC managed to hold onto their lead and won the match 2-0 in the end. Cape Umoya United had to see themselves go emty handed at home as the visitors claimed all three points from the match.
