Chiefs Target Safe, While Two Teammates Face Exit?
Kaizer Chiefs football club has been linked with interest in Sekhukhune United outstanding midfielder Yusuf Maart, and there is a possibility that he could complete a potential move to Chiefs as its reported that the Soweto giants might lure him with a swap deal.
Yusuf Maart is safe at Sekhukhune United as his contract is not set to expire anytime soon should he not find a new deal with a new club. But Maart's two teammates Luckyboy Mokoena and Tapuwa Kapini is unlucky as their contracts is set to expire in June.
Luckyboy Mokoena joined Sekhukhune United from TS Galaxy in the January transfer window, but hasn't featured in a single match for Sekhukhune for the season as he watched every match from the sidelines. Mokoena signed a short-term deal with the club, but it was just unfortunate that his deal didn't offer any game-time.
Indications are that Luckyboy Mokoena will not be signing a new contract with the club and will be on his way out of the club. Sekhukhune United had a pretty impressive debut season in the top flight and did a remarkable job of securing their second season in the DStv Premiership.
Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini spent the biggest part of the season on the sidelines as goalkeeper of the season nominee Toaster Nsabata established himself as the club's number one for the season.
Tapuwa Kapini played only three matches at the start of the season and the rest of the shot-stopper duties was entrusted to Toaster Nsabata who stand a chance of winning the goalkeeper of the season accolade.
It's highly likely that Sekhukhune United might release Tapuwa Kapini in June.
