Messages Pour In For Chiefs' Most Hated Player

He might not possess the belligerent and villainous character of Senegal legend, El Haji Diouff, but Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Anthony Akumu Agay is equally treated in the same manner as the Senegalese, but for different reasons.

Since arriving at Chiefs from Zambian giants ZESCO United in January 2020, Akumu has really not endeared himself to the AMakhosi faithful.

His languid and often passive displays during arguably the club's worst season in modern times, made him an easier target for the fans.

However, he has been under the tutelage of three Chiefs mentors, and virtually all of them seemed to have seen something in him that cj help the team.

His involvement in the team has been quite restricted to second half cameos, in particular when coach Stuart Baxter resorts to a defensive formationb, he invariably summons him.

Be that as it may, Chiefs fans have this morning spared him some flack, as they took to twitter in their numbers to send him a messages on the occasion celebrating his 29th year.

Although many of them wished him many more years, a tiny fraction of the supporters indicated that they do not blame him at all, but whoever scouted him, because they believe he his not a good player at all, let alone good enough for a club of such magnitude as Chiefs.

Agay was born in Rachuonyo in Kenya, but after cutting his teeth at Gor Mahia, he went on and plied his trade in countries such as Sudan and Zambia, before settling further South in the City of Gold, at Chiefs.

What can you say about Akumu on the occasion he is celebrating his 29th birthday. Besides possibly wishing him many more years, do you think he has the requisite skills to carve a successful career at the Naturena-based club?
