Former Orlando Pirates Captain Benson Mhlongo Has a New Coaching Job at the GladAfrica Championship!
In a statement released Wednesday, Black Leopards announced Mhlongo as one of the new faces of the tech team. Mhlongo is said to be working hand in hand with Floyd Mogale to try to turn things around.
And although the club has not specified the roles of the two coaches, Mogale is expected to take over the technical direction with Mhlongo as his assistant.
Leopards have been trained by club legends Morgan Shivhambu and Mongezi Bobe since Lehlohonolo Seema left.
However, with Lidoda Duvha finishing 14th in the GladAfrica Championship record, management saw the need to include Mhlongo and Mogale.
Leopards manager Tshifhiwa Thidiela said the club still had a chance to fight for promotion, hence the decision to reform its coaching staff.
“Even if we have the feeling that we still have a great opportunity to fight for promotion. However, we note that we still lack the technical department, ”Thidiela said in the statement.
“We just have to convert the opportunities that come our way and then we have a great chance to survive the competition. Floyd and Benson will add great value to the team, ”the statement added.
