I was so glad to see the Marumo Gallants vs AS Vita Club results as the DStv Premiership side managed to win 3-2 on aggregate against one of the toughest teams in CAF Competitions. To be truthful Marumo Gallants is not a team that I desired to see representing the Premier Soccer League in CAF Competitions because they are literally still a new club and they are inexperienced when it comes to representing the league on CAF Competitions, but here they are right now they have done well for themselves thus far.
Marumo Gallants saw themselves progressing to the play off round after defeating the Congolese side, and this is something which is good for the Premier Soccer League and this also sends a message to the entire African continent that surely the DStv Premiership clubs are tough to play against even the so called smaller clubs are highly competitive as well.
This is a job well done from Marumo Gallants PSL teams should Dominate CAF Competitions. Even though the 2020/21 Nedbank cup champions is the youngest team in South Africa they did very good for themselves and also for the Premier Soccer League. Winning against a team like AS Vita Club is not an easy job because they are one of the biggest and highly experienced side in CAF, on their side this is an embarrassment because they were beaten by an inexperienced team in this competition and even when they had an upper hand they got sloppy in late minutes as they conceded a goal which gave Marumo Gallants victory as they progressed to the next stage of CAF Confederations cup.
It will be great to see all four South African teams being progressive in this CAF Competitions, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu representing the DStv Premiership on CAF champions League level, while Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants representing the league on CAF Confederations cup tournament, the next best thing that should happen is that all four South African teams should reach the final stages of these competitions just to show that the Premier Soccer League is a dominant and highly competitive league in Africa.
