SuperSport United's head coach, Kaitano Tembo, says his team is aware that their DStv Premiership encounter against Marumo Gallants on Saturday would be difficult, but they are prepared to meet the challenge.
Tembo, on the other hand, has singled out a number of Gallants players who he believes would cause him and his team greater difficulties, including former club star Thabo Mnyamane.
The Zimbabwean mentor, on the other hand, has stated that they will make every effort to gain an advantage by playing on their own turf.
"Well, our next game is against Marumo Gallants, which I believe is a team that has some really good individual players," he said in a statement released by the club's media department.
"As examples, I can cite Celimpilo Ngema, Thabo Mnyamane, who we are extremely familiar with and who is also familiar with our atmosphere; Miguel Timm; and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, all of whom are good individual players who can strike at any time against any side."
In any case, we're preparing for a very difficult game, and to make matters worse, I believe they've hired a new coach, Coach Dan Malesela, whom the players will be eager to please. And while I am uncertain how much time he has to spend with the players, I am confident that the game, like all of the games we have played thus far, will be extremely difficult.
"For us, preparation is going to be extremely important. We must make a concerted effort to concentrate more on our game. In order to get favorable results in this game, we must attempt to impose our game on the opponents, dominate the game because it is very important, and put on a good performance since that will help us achieve positive results." Because our national team players are returning today and Thursday, we have only had two days to prepare with them, but I am confident in our ability to produce strong results regardless of their return date.
When players return from international duty, it's always difficult because you don't know how they're feeling. We're grateful that there are no injuries in this regard; now we just hope that our players are fresh enough to face Marumo Gallants on Saturday. I'm confident that we'll come away with a win, however.
At the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, Matsatsantsa will take on Bahlabane Ba Ntwa on Saturday afternoon (17h00).
