Da Gama 'has plan' to stop Shalulile

Galaxy will face the reigning DStv Premiership champions at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday, with Da Gama facing off against Shalulile, a former Highlands Park striker.

The Namibian international was named PSL Footballer of the Season in 2020/21 and has continued his good form in the new season, scoring in Sundowns' 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs.

In this weekend's match, Shalulile is likely to be Masandawana's main goal threat once again, and Da Gama acknowledges that he has had to put preparations in place to stop the 27-year-old.

He said, "You have to plan for a Peter Shalulile." "He demonstrated that last season, when he won games for Sundowns by himself, one-nil, two-nil, single-handedly.

"Sundowns are the type of team that, once they score the first goal, they are so motivated and encouraged that it is difficult to fight back against them.

"So, yeah, we are aware of his characteristics. Whether or not we can stop him is another thing, but we will certainly give it our all and work extremely hard. From a tactical standpoint, we need to nail this one."
