Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals Why He Didn't Attend the Best Footballer Ceremony

Lionel Messi has now won two more accolades than Cristiano Ronaldo, after defeating Robert Lewandowski and Jorginho to win his seventh Ballon d'Or.

Cristiano Ronaldo was absent from the ceremony, in which his arch-rival Lionel Messi was awarded the sixth trophy. He denied on his Instagram account that he did not attend the ceremony on Monday because he was forced to go into quarantine due to Covid-19, which was untrue.

Additionally, on Monday, he took to social media to refute Pascal Ferré's charges. In the contest for the Ballons d'Or, Cristiano Ronaldo came in sixth place.

He has five Ballon d'Or awards to his name, but despite coming first in Serie A and at the European Championships, the 36-year-old has been almost missing from the race this season. This year's poll did not place the Manchester United player among the top three.

At this point, the discussion has come to a conclusion. Messi is the greatest player the game has ever seen, and his seven Ballon d'Or titles are proof of that.
