Golden Arrows Announced Mabhuti Khenyeza & Vusumuzi Vilakazi as Their Permanent co-coaches

Golden Arrows will have Mabhuti Khenyeza and Vusumuzi Vilakazi as permanent co-coaches.

This season, Mabhuti Khenyeza and Vusumuzi Vilakazi will co-coach Golden Arrows.

Mabhuti Khenyeza and Vusumuzi Vilakazi, who took over in an interim capacity last season, have been named the permanent managers of Durban - Golden Arrows.

The team will continue to be led by coaches Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabhudi Khenyeza as co-coaches going into the upcoming season, the club announced on their Twitter account.

Lehlohonolo Seema was replaced by the duo last season after a spate of mediocre performances, the worst and last of which was an ugly 6-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.

They managed two wins, three draws, and only one loss in the final six games they managed last season, falling just short of a top-eight finish on the final day due to goal differential.

Khenyeza and Vilakazi are both regarded as "sons" of the Durban-based club due to their representation of the organisation during their playing careers and subsequent roles as coaches in the Arrows' youth programmes.

In the 2020–2021 season, Abafana Bes'thende enjoyed their most successful campaign under coach Mandla Ncikazi, finishing an outstanding fourth position and just three points short of qualifying for African football.

The club had to rebuild under new management and establish a new "core," yet, due to the structure of the organisation, they were ransacked by the bigger clubs, losing both Ncikazi and crucial midfield maestri Neverdie Makhubela to Orlando Pirates.

It appears that the club has chosen Khenyeza and Vilakazi, a tried-and-true duo who are familiar with the club's ethos and guiding ideas.
