Great news: Middendorp is still amazing about their win against Mamelodi Sundowns

Middendorp was also surprised by the win against Mamelodi Sundowns as they did a wonderful come back.

Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp is hoping for more consistency after their dramatic win against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Alfred Ndengane and Amadou Soukouna scored goals on either side of the half to give the Team-of-Choice a famous victory over Sundowns.

Middendorp, on the other hand, desires to see the same fighting attitude in all of their games. What worries him is that despite a positive victory versus SuperSport United in the previous game, they lost to Golden Arrows the next game.

"This is a huge three-point lead. At the moment, our work and a challenge is to improve our position. Middendorp informed the club's media department, "I believe it [the win against Sundowns] was not expected."

"We were more expecting to get three points last week in a home derby versus Golden Arrows, but it's nice when we have ideas that don't pan out."

"It was clearly a collaborative effort," says the narrator. We put in a lot of effort with a lot of luck in a few instances where we should have given up, but we have to be realistic.

"However, as we've seen with a specific style of play and a certain set-up, I believe we should be pleased with these three points based on our hard work thus far."

"I believe that some players were injured, that Alfred Ndengane and Phumlani Ntshangashe and other players came in and fought for the club, and we are definitely glad to get these three points," says the coach.

Maritzburg's next match is on March 16 at home against Sekhukhune United, and Middendorp will be looking forward to building on this win.

On the other hand, Baroka ended a run of poor results with a 1-0 home win over TS Galaxy on Saturday.
