There were reports that spread like wild fire that the South African international attacker Percy Tau has sustained an injury that will prevent him from making his early debut for Al Ahly, this was said to be as a result of a chronic injury that he sustained when he was on duty for the national team, and then there were indications that Tau was going to spend time with the medical team of Al Ahly for at least four weeks. These were type of news that spread like wild fire on social media and other media platforms.
Al Ahly's medical head Ahmed Abo Abla has spoken out about such rumors and made it clear that such news aren't true at all, the 27 year old South African attacker does not suffer any chronic injuries as it has been reported by various media publications. The Al Ahly supporters who are yet to see what Percy Tau has in the table for them were greatly concerned about the condition of their new signing, and the South African football universe was also concerned about Percy Tau's condition, especially since he is their star player in the national team.
But there are still concerns that remain about Percy Tau's condition, it's not a chronic injury but a light hamstring injury which he sustained when he was on duty with Bafana Bafana. Ahmed Abo Ablaa has also given a message of hope to those who are concerned about Tau's condition that it's not as serious as it was speculated. For the time being Percy Tau has been training on his own and is being observed by a physical therapist just to assess his condition.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion player is one of the players that was selected by Hugo Broos in the 34 man provisional players, this shows that even when he is reported to be in an emergency room there is still value that is seen in him especially coming from the side of his national team. Bafana Bafana are scheduled to clash against Ethiopia in October in a two legged FIFA World cup qualifier's clash.
