When it comes to soccer and a period where a top player finds himself inba situation where in he is struggling to find a team to play for, patience is required so that a new club can be found.
Waiting has finally paid off for former Orlando Pirates Star Striker Justin Shonga who had been searching for a new club without any luck, something that can turn out to be very frustrating for a player.
Shonga who is 24 years of age has joined Ismlaily FC in Egypt, where he has put pen to paper on a three year contract, shrugging off interest from Algeria giants JS Kabiyle who were also strongly after his services.
The Zambian international left South African Shores where he had spent four years to fly to Egypt after the topflight outfit made contact with him to sign him, a chance he did not allow to pass.
He had been in search for a new club, at one point he came very close to signing for Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu, but that did not go well for him as they did not offer him a contract.
The speedy forward played for Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City and the now depleted Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, notably where his career took a nose dive. He scored 16 goals and made 16 assists during his time at Pirates in 77 games. This is a very good tally for a striker, which makes one wonder why it was so hard for him to get a new team, but everything happens for a reason.
Egypt has been recruiting some people from South Africa's league. Pitso Mosimane, Roger De Sa and Percy Tau who have experience in South African Football are in Egypt.
