Zwane speaks out on new job at Chiefs

Zwane has signed a three-year contract to continue his adventure with Chiefs, where he has spent nearly half of his 48 years since joining the club as a player in 2000.

"To those close to me, I've always said... I told them eight years ago that I was working hard and sleeping a lot to become a head coach who cared about the team's success rather than just adding to the numbers "Zwane adds.

Zwane, who goes by the nickname 10111, is a Soweto native who holds CAF A and UEFA B coaching qualifications.

"The winning culture and mentality were one of the reasons I wanted to play for this team as a player. That is what motivated me to work hard in order to wear this jersey as a player. That was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"I'm still here today. People in this room are aware that I told them that one day I will be the head coach. I knew there would be difficulties. Every setback served as a wake-up call, and now here I am, "he declares

"These are the things that we dream about as individuals. If there is one person who has made me believe in myself from the beginning, it is the chairman, since when I decided to stop playing due to injury, he was the one who encouraged me to keep going.
